Western Wisconsin Welcomes YOU!

Please join us and be our guest in helping us celebrate the 48th Anniversary of the Oktoberfest Race Weekend! It is our goal to provide area race fans and racers one of the finest stock car racing events in the upper Midwest to be a part of. We hope that you go home with many memories, as well as anticipation for next year’s Oktoberfest.

Oktoberfest has grown over the years from a two day race event in the 1970s and 1980’s to three in the 1990’s, and has now been four days for over 15 years. Further, fans are invited to stay with us in the popular camper village for up to a week, this year starting on Monday October 2nd through Monday, October 9th.

Oktoberfest is a racing event and experience that you cannot capture on a computer screen, a television screen, or a smart phone. It is something much more. Think of it like a real-life fun experience, because that’s what it is. Everything else…. is just a race.

Is there lots of great racing action? Yes. Are there lots of race cars in different styles, and classes? Sure, there are. But it is the camaraderie of the racing family that makes a special event like Oktoberfest so special. The racers may compete against each other, but afterwards, most like to have a good time together either at the campground or the after race parties. The fans are able to mingle in with the participants afterwards also, unlike in other sports.

We would like to say thank you to all of you whom have attended and raced over the years at this annual event. It is all of you who help make the event so fun for everyone. We would like to thank several groups that help us organize and put on the event, including West Salem Youth Hockey, 4-H Youth Group, the LaCrosse Agricultural Society, and a local Fast Pitch Softball team. On behalf of them, the many others that help put on the event, and the staff and management of LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway, THANK YOU.

If you have not been to Oktoberfest, ask your racing friends about it. Or, better yet, just take that road trip for the day, or better, for the weekend. Enjoy the racing, the foods, the festive atmosphere, and the fall colors! Most of all, enjoy one last hurrah of racing before the 2017 season is in the record books and the landscape turns white! Don’t forget to mark your calendar for the 49th Oktoberfest: Oct. 4-5-6-7, 2018!

Sincerely,
Staff & Management of LaCrosse Speedway
