46th Oktoberfest Race Weekend At A Glance

(West Salem, WI) – Great racing, great memories and great championship battles will be some of the highlights at the upcoming 46th Annual Oktoberfest Race Weekend this Thursday through Sunday, October 8, 9, 10, 11 at the La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway in West Salem, Wisconsin.

Each day will be unique with different divisions and special events racing each night.

Pepsi sponsors the opening night of racing on Thursday, October 8th with eight divisions competing on the 5/8-mile and ¼-mile ovals. “The Futures” Super Late Model race highlights the next generation of talented drivers in a 25-lap feature. The La Crosse Late Models will cap off their 2015 season with a 40-lap main event. Plus, the La Crosse Sportsmen, Thunderstox, Hornets, Bandits, Double-O Race and Outlawz will also be in action. The racing program gets underway at 6pm.

The challenging “Dick Trickle 99” highlights Friday’s action sponsored by Bud Light. The Super Late Models will be competing in this unique 99-lap event broken into three 33-lap segments honoring one of the greatest short track drivers ever. The Great Northern Sportsmen Series and Fest Trucks will also be part of the fast action.
Racing starts at 5pm.

Kwik Trip will be sponsoring a busy day on Saturday with four divisions racing. The ARCA Midwest Tour will have their qualifying races for Sunday’s main event. The Big 8 Series will determine their 2015 champion in a 68-lap feature. The Midwest Dash Cars will make their debut in a 20-lap feature and the one of a kind Mid-American Stock Car Series will have a 40-lap championship event. Racing gets underway at 5pm.

Budweiser sponsors the final day of the 46th annual event with racing starting at noon on Sunday. The 200-lap ARCA Midwest Tour Oktoberfest feature will highlight the afternoon of racing. The Big 8 Series returns for the JMcK Big 8 Invitational event three 21-lap segment event. Plus, the popular Vintage cars will bring back some nostalgia from days gone by for the race fans.

Also on Sunday, fans will have the chance to mingle with champions of yesterday at the 7th Annual Champion’s Re-Union from 11am to 2pm at the turn one Hospitality Chalet. Fans with a Sunday ticket or wristband are free to visit and meet their favorite drivers that are on hand.

The legendary after race parties take place Friday and Saturday night in the Exhibition Hall, featuring live music. On Friday, Diamond & Steel will take to the stage with the popular band “The Freezers” headlining on Saturday night.
