While the major focus of the 48th Annual Oktoberfest Race Weekend will be the racing action at the La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway, there will be more fun opportunities for the fans each day during the four-day event on October 5, 6, 7, and 8th.
All of the activities are open for fans who live nearby, staying at local hotels and especially those staying in the campground.
On Thursday, October 5th, the activities get started at noon with Dean’s Satellite Camper Challenge Cornhole Tournament in the Big Red Barn. Racing action will get underway at 6pm with a 2017 La Crosse Divisions Track Champions Party in the Fairgrounds Exhibition Building after the races.
The second Dean’s Satellite Camper Challenge, Rock-Paper-Scissors, gets underway at noon on Friday, October 6th. The famous Pet Costume Parade will get underway at 2pm at the Exhibition Building. Racing gets underway at 5:30pm. After the races head to the Exhibition Hall for the After Race Party featuring Burnin’ Whiskey Band.
Another annual tradition at Oktoberfest is the Memorabilia Show gets underway at 9:00am in the Exhibition Hall on Saturday, October 7th. Racing gets underway at 5pm. Last Call will take the stage after the races for a Saturday Night After Race Party in the Exhibition Hall.
The final day on Sunday, October 8th gets underway bright and early at 7:30am with the charity pancake breakfast in the Exhibition Hall. The Pumpkin Coloring Contest starts at 9:00am in the Exhibition Hall. The Big Red Barn will be the place for the Sunday Church Service at 9:30am. The traditional on-track autograph session will go from 10:45-11:45am. Racing action will get underway at noon on Sunday with the 48th Annual weekend coming to a conclusion with the ARCA Midwest Tour Oktoberfest 200.
The 48th Annual Oktoberfest Race Weekend will have 12 championships decided during the four days. Championships will be decided in the ARCA Midwest Tour, Mid-American Stock Car Series, Great Northern Sportsmen Series, Big 8 Series, Midwest Trucks, Midwest Dash Series, La Crosse Late Models, La Crosse Sportsmen, Thunderstox, Outlawz, Hornets, and Street Stocks.
The Oktoberfest Race Weekend campground will open at noon on Monday, October 2nd.
