CHAMPIONS REUNION XVI SET FOR SUNDAY OCT 6TH

ONALASKA, WI – The 16th Annual Champions Reunion is set to take place at La Crosse Fairgrounds Speedway, West Salem, WI., Sunday, October 6th, as part of the Oktoberfest racing weekend, October 3-6.  The event which has become a mainstay of the huge Oktoberfest extravaganza, will be held in the turn one Hospitality Chalet, from 11am-2pm Sunday of ‘Fest.

This year’s edition of the Reunion will be held to commemorate the racing career of Tom Reffner long time area racer who passed away this past October. Reffner amassed 412 Feature race wins in a career that spanned over 50 years. Throughout that time, Reffner was a prolific winner at the La Crosse Speedway, ranking in the top five in all time wins.

Plans are for a number of the Reffner racing family, spanning three generations of racing, to be on hand for the festive event. John J. Mayer, a great supporter of racing for decades will be the presenting sponsor of the Reunion.

Any Championship winning racer from any tour, series, or track, that hasn’t competed in the last three years, is invited to attend, including Oktoberfest main event winners. Past and present racing promoters are also invited. Over 60 champion drivers attended in 2023, and a similar count is expected this year.

A number of original and replica cars that raced in years past, will also be on display during the day, including former Reffner race cars. Fans holding a Sunday ticket for the Oktoberfest races, will be able to get up close to these machines and visit with those racers in attendance, along with being able to check out the memorabilia also on display.

Drivers and racing Promoters wishing to attend need to contact event co-coordinator Dale P. Danielski at email address, dale@starmakermultimedia.com, on the Champions Reunion 16 event FACEBOOK page, or by calling  608-518-2478. Physical mailing address is Dale P. Danielski, 314 3rd Avenue S, Onalaska, WI., 54650. A list of those indicating they are attending will be at the main grandstand ticket gate entrance, on Sunday, October 6th, where an arm band will be issued allowing admittance. That will also be your ticket for the food and beverage served during the day and a full afternoon of racing. Thanks in advance for attending, and enjoy the 55th Annual Oktoberfest racing  weekend.
