CYPRESS, Calif. (May 17, 2018) – JE Pistons, the industry leader in high-performance forged and billet racing pistons, has renewed its relationship with the ARCA Midwest Tour for the 2018 season and will continue its role as the series’ Official Piston.
The ARCA Midwest Tour is the premier pavement super late model series in the Midwest and will host nine events across Wisconsin and Northern Illinois in 2018. The series prides itself on matching top stars from around the country against tour regulars to provide fans with the best entertainment short-track racing has to offer. Using many of the founding principles which made his parent’s ARTGO Challenge Series a breeding ground for stock-car racing royalty, Midwest Tour president Gregg McKarns continues to build marquee events and rear new talent.
As part of the partnership, JE will provide a complete set of pistons to the ARCA Midwest Tour’s championship winning engine builder at season’s end. Meanwhile, JE will continue its support of the annual Oktoberfest race weekend at LaCrosse (Wis.) Speedway as the Presenting Sponsor of the Dick Trickle 99. JE will also furnish contingency awards for all feature-race winners throughout the weekend.
“The ARCA Midwest Tour is steeped in tradition and puts on some of the most exciting super late model races anywhere in the country,” said Mark Gearhart, Senior Content Marketing Manager for JE Pistons. “At the same time, it’s important for JE to connect with the competitors and their engine builders who make decisions when it’s time to choose a piston. The ARCA Midwest Tour attracts talent from all over the country and from our perspective it’s an ideal grassroots platform to demonstrate what JE brings to the table for short-track racers.”
Two weekends ago at the season opener, Austin Nason led the final two laps and pulled off the potential upset of the year when the 22-year-old from Roscoe, Ill., found his way to Victory Lane in the Joe Shear Classic at Madison (Wis.) International Speedway. Nason came out on top of the 28-car field that included former NASCAR Champion Johnny Sauter and Bubba Pollard, one of the hottest big-money late-model racers in the country, pocketing a cool $10,000 for his efforts.
“JE has been a leading force behind our ARCA Midwest Tour Travel and Bonus Plans, which rewards our teams after each Super Late Model event, explained McKarns. “JE’s support also contributes to asphalt short track auto racing in our region from top to bottom with great rewards for all feature winners at the Oktoberfest Weekend at LaCrosse Speedway. I’m proud to have JE Pistons as part of our family of supporters. It’s important to all our key stakeholders that we have companies like JE that understand short track racing.”
The ARCA Midwest Tour returns to action Sat., May 19th for the Cabin Fever 100 at State Park Speedway in Wausau, Wisconsin.
