Sauter Aims to keep Oktoberfest Trophy in the Family

September 26, 2013 (West Salem, WI) – The name Sauter is synonymous with stock car racing when it comes to Wisconsin.

Tim Sauter is just like the rest of the family. He still enjoys getting behind the wheel of a Super Late Model Stock Car. He is not just out to ride around though. Winning is still a goal.

“Racing has been a family tradition of ours. Another tradition has been Sauters racing at the Oktoberfest Race Weekend,” commented Sauter.

“My son Travis has won Oktoberfest a couple times now. I enjoy racing with him, but as a parent, it is especially rewarding to watch him progress in his racing career,” Sauter continued.

One of his greatest racing accomplishments is winning the 1999 ASA Series Championship. “I almost won the ASA 300 at LaCrosse, finishing second a couple times. Believe it or not, I’ve never won a feature race at LaCrosse, and that is something I’d like to achieve.”

Sauter makes adjustments to his car prior to Wednesday’s testing.

Fans might get to see up to five Sauters compete at this year’s Oktoberfest. Brothers Jim Jr. and John in addition to Tim, and nephew Michael and son Travis have all expressed interest in racing at Oktoberfest, in a variety of divisions next week. Tim, meanwhile will join son Travis in the ARCA Midwest Tour in running the Oktoberfest 100 on Sunday, October 6th.

Sauter will be looking to win his first Oktoberfest Title next Week

“We’ve been just racing special events this year, like Wausau, Madison International, and Marshfield. I won the Detjens Memorial race at Wausau and I’m happy about that. Oktoberfest is on my bucket list and I still really want to get that trophy,” concluded Sauter.

The ARCA Midwest Tour will headline the Oktoberfest Race Weekend on Saturday and Sunday, with preliminary qualifying races and time trials on Saturday. Sunday will feature last chance races and the Oktoberfest 100 Championship race.
