MORNING RUN HAS RECORD TURNOUT

October 5, 2024

West Salem, WI – On a beautiful fall morning, race fans turned out in record numbers in preparation of 55th Oktoberfest Race Weekend.

The early birds rushed into the stands and got their favorite general admission place to sit for tonight’s racing events.  An event that has become known as “running of the blankets,” today’s edition had a record turnout.

“I don’t believe it,” commented weekly racing competition director Ray Loughan.  “There must have been nearly 500 fans standing and waiting in line this morning.  It’s just great to see so many fans that love Oktoberfest and we love hosting them.  They’re in for a real treat with tonight’s show,” concluded Loughan.

Tonight’s racing program showcases approximately 180 cars among five divisions of racing, including the Big-8 Late Model Series, preliminary races for the ASA Midwest Tour Super Late Models, the Midwest Dash Series, Mid-American Stock Cars, and the Midwest Trucks.  Qualifying starts at 2:25pm and racing gets underway at 5:00.

Advance tickets may be purchased online at LaCrosseSpeedway.com or at the box office.  Don’t forget you can save by purchasing a Saturday-Sunday 2-day wristband.
